Following a year in which Pontiac was the hottest selling car in automotive history, 1927 saw some minor changes and the introduction of a couple of new body styles. The Sport roadster was introduced and the Deluxe coupe was replaced by the 2-door Sport cabriolet, a closed coupe with a rumble seat. Also a 4-door sedan was offered.

Adjustments to the design included smooth full-crown front fenders. Bumper guards and and rear fender guards were offered options, although these were standard on the Deluxe models. Side-mount spare tires could be had on the Sport Cabriolet and Sport roadster models only. An improved clutch and a higher-capacity cooling system were other improvements for the 1927 model year.

In July 1927 mid-year adjustments were made to the various Pontiac models and they were sold as 1928 model cars. Changes were minor and included a smaller 11-gallon gas tank and the addition of a few more paint color options. Automatic spark control and an indirectly lit dash were improvements included in the mid-year versions.
